Otto Now Offers Precious Metal

John C. Otto has become a licensed MetalFX® printer, offering a revolutionary printing process used to produce hundreds of metallic colors in one pass on a printing press.

Otto’s parent company, Consolidated Graphics (CGX), has partnered with the U.K.-based MetalFX® Technology to create the largest group of licensed MetalFX® printers in the U.S.

The MetalFX® metallic system produces an unlimited choice of metallic colors with only one extra ink, eliminating the added expense of multiple spot colors. The MetalFX® base silver ink is printed first, then overprinted with traditional CMYK (four color) values. The high luster silver ink shines through the transparent CMYK, creating a whole new spectrum of vibrant metallics.
